another question

How do you store your cat/dogs dry food? I have two cat food containers that are plastic but with all the cat food I've been getting for free lately both have been filled to the brim all the time. The new dog food I got free doesn't have a little zipper closure like his Royal Canine food does and also is a paper bag vs a more plastic bag so my cat can easily rip through it if she gets in the cabinet. My cat is the master and getting to food and ripping open bags so I'm trying to avoid that. I'm thinking maybe some sort of rubbermaid/tupperware container but those brands are so expensive.. what else is out there I could get relatively cheap and would keep the food fresh?

Since there have been so many pet food recalls in the past, I dont mix bags of food any longer. That way I still have all the information just in case of a recall... but to answer your question, if I remember right you have all kinds of "dollar" stores around you. Do they carry any storage totes? That's what we keep our big bags of chicken food in. I think they have them at the Dollar General store for $6. It's 18 gallon plastic bin with lid. HTH

The 18 gallon Rubbermaid tubs are only $5 at walmart. And the sterilite tubs are even less!

we have a little closet in the basement i stick them in so the cats can't get at them. i don't know if they would try to get through the bags though....they're pretty spoiled and lazy.....

I store my dog food & cat food in a rubbermaid brand container in the garage. I store the puppy food in a smaller rubbermaid container in the house. I will take a picture soon of the dog & cat containers.
